Western Wine Route

Western wines began to be known after the French invasions, as Wellington is said to have been a great wine lover, with a special emphasis on whites. Immerse yourself in a centuries-old wine culture, exploring the farms and wineries that produce excellent quality wines.
Santa Cruz

Enjoy the small corners with sea views, the vast beaches, the long walks along the seafront and the lively nightlife.
Take the opportunity to visit the Azenha de Santa Cruz, a curious mill that was once used to grind cereals and is now a museum piece.
Torres Vedras Castle and Historic Center

The small streets and alleys wind and twist, climbing up towards the castle, and are flanked by small houses with pots full of plants decorating the entrances. Enjoy strolling through the historic center, which has undergone significant renovations.
Serra de Montejunto

The Serra de Montejunto is located between the municipalities of Alenquer and Cadaval and is less than twenty kilometres from Casa da Abrunheira. Enjoy the highest natural viewpoint in Extremadura, at an altitude of over six hundred metres, the numerous marked trails with breathtaking views and also admire the old Royal Ice Factory, built in this mountain range due to the necessary cold and its proximity to the capital.
Forte de São Vicente

The Fort of São Vicente, a fortified complex on a hill overlooking the city of Torres Vedras, is part of a larger group of fortifications, called the Lines of Torres, which were essential in the defense of the capital during the French invasions. Be sure to walk along its lines and admire the city from above.
Óbidos

Lose yourself in the narrow streets of Óbidos, experience its charm and walk along the walls, enjoying the view from above. Óbidos is a town full of life and culture, with beautiful bookshops and events that attract thousands of people, such as the International Chocolate Festival and the Medieval Market. Just over half an hour from Casa da Abrunheira, it is a trip that is worth it!
